Rachel Greenwood from Simply Buteiful

Welcome to two new board members

Welcome and Happy New Year, as we get over all the festivities it's time to get back to business with the BID. Firstly we welcome our two new board members Jim Brodbeck from the Bute Backpackers and Rachel Greenwood from Simply Buteiful and thank you to Ian McCulloch who has stepped into the role of Vice Chair, all will bring strength and benefits to the BID along with our temporary BID manager Phil Prentice and Jill Devlin as interim Coordinator.

It's a very important year for the BID and the Island as its the final year of the first term, we will be going to the vote later in the year. Before we get there, we have important work and projects to deliver such as an advertising and marketing package for the Island, subject to planning permission being granted the installation of a new play park on the east side of the esplanade putting greens and a proposed refurbishment of the amphitheatre area and gardens. We also aim to work with all local communities on the Island and whenever possible support small projects and events so please get in touch with your plans. Here's to a successful and exciting year.

Bute Feis & Celtis Cousins

Isle of Bute BID is supporting the BUTE FEIS, Saturday Feb 14th 2026. The Marian Downes School of Dance is bringing up to 300 Irish dance participants to Rothesay to compete in this year's Feis.

To welcome our Celtic Cousins, we will have a Scottish Ceilidh Band to entertain our guests at Rothesay Golf Club from 7pm. Duncan Martin, Chair of IOB BID said "Bringing large number of guests to the Island during the quieter months will ensure our shops, hospitality and accommodation sectors will get a vital boost."

What's On at The Amphitheatre

Do you have a dance group who would like to perform, a band, choir, a theatre group get in touch with Bute BID for available Saturdays where you can book the amphitheatre for a time to suit. What a great way to entertain locals and visitors alike and maybe do some fundraising at the same time.

The BID will advertise through Visit Bute and Wild About Argyll if you are early enough maybe into the local newspaper. We can support with set up if need and we can assist with advice on any permissions required.

We are planning to launch an events calendar which starts Easter Saturday which is the 4th April, all the details to follow, but if you are interested, would like to know more, discuss dates available please get in touch initially via info@butebid.com and we can arrange a meeting to discuss.
